Dark Roast Coffee
Community Dark Roast available in both (whole bean and ground) is their
original coffee that started it all and is generally regarded as the most popular of their
coffee offerings. The dark roast is low in acidity but is still a full bodied, dark,
flavorful yet smooth. If you are new to Community Coffee or coffee in general this is
definitely a good place to start. Optimal brewing for a drip brewer is 1 tablespoon per 2 cups.
The packaging recommend 1 teaspoon per 6 oz. of water but these amount can be adjusted to
taste.
This coffee also has the advantage of tasting great in a percolator, cold
press, french press, etc. so feel free to experiment with the most popular and original
Community coffee dark roast. This is probably the best and most popular of the "non
gourmet" Community Coffee offerings you can buy and is a long standing Louisiana
tradition. It also costs less then StarBucks and any name brand national coffees you can
purchase. You can find this coffee served in many Louisiana shops and New Orleans coffee
stores and cafes.
Some coffee drinkers may find the dark roast to be to dark/bitter. If this is
you, you can try their medium roast which might be more to your liking or just try adjusting
the 1 to 2 ratio mentioned above to your taste until you've tweaked it to the point that you
are getting the desired amount for your tastes.
Community Coffee Dark Roast is available in many southern grocery stores or
straight from their website by clicking here for ground or here for whole bean.
